When the sunsets are earlier and hang on the rim, the autumn leaves begin to turn with vivid reds and golds coloring the river valleys and forests. With over 500,000 acres of National Forest, our late September thru October Color Tours are a must-see, a ‘bucket list’ item for sure. The Cadillac region is also the geographic center of Michigan and boasts the highest elevation in the state. The shifting winds across Lake Michigan keep the winter white on our trails and ski hills longer, and freeze our lakes earlier than most. Skiers, snowmobilers, cross-country skiers, ice fishermen… they all co-exist in our region.
