Bear Hunting Clinic

Students will learn the ins and outs of bear hunting with experienced hunters and experienced DNR educators. The class will cover habitat, gear, stand placement, baiting, rules and regulations, carcass care, and hide care. Participants will spend about five to six hours in the classroom and outside.
Cost for the class is $30, which includes a Michigan DNR bear patch, lunch, refreshments and door prizes. Participation is limited to 60 students.
To register for this class, go to Michigan.gov/DNRLicenses and click on the “Purchase a license” button. Sign in (using either a username and password or your ID and birthdate), and find the class under the Outdoor Skills Academy tab.

Please note cancellation policy:
- Cancellations made any time after processing this reservation until the close of business two weeks prior to your scheduled arrival date will incur a 50% cancellation fee. If you cancel after the two-week deadline, no refund will be issued. Students are entitled to any of the materials purchased for the class after the two-week deadline, except materials that have a shelf life.
- To receive a refund, you must email ShawE@Michigan.gov with the following in the subject line: “Refund [class name].” A phone call or voice message will not be considered notification. You must email ShawE@Michigan.gov.
A Recreation Passport is required for entry into Mitchell State Park.
