Dr. Linda Parkhurst – An Equestrian Life

February 15 | @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

“…Painting pictures of horses is something I am compelled to do. But I don’t think I really paint horses—at least not in the realistic sense. I paint my passion for horses.”

Learn about Dr. Parkhurst and her introduction to Sorghum at the age of 5; followed by Black Beauty, My Friend Flicka and other childhood favorites. Leading to a life of working with horses and along the way earning bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in Equestrian Studies. Only in retirement did she discover her latest passion — painting. Dr. Parkhurst’s art will be on display Saturday, February 15 at 1pm in the Library’s Community Room.
