Executive Director (Full-Time)

The Executive Director leads the Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau, guiding strategy, marketing, and operations to position the Cadillac area as a premier year-round destination for overnight travel. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this role drives visitation and economic impact through destination marketing, community partnerships, and sound financial and organizational leadership. Administrative & Marketing Assistant (Part-Time)

The Administrative & Marketing Assistant is a part-time, in-office position that supports the day-to-day operations of the Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau. Working approximately 25 hours per week, this role provides essential administrative, organizational, and visitor support to keep the office running smoothly and efficiently. The position primarily supports the Executive Director and internal operations, with additional responsibilities assisting marketing initiatives and serving as a welcoming point of contact for visitors. Help Shape the Future of Tourism in Cadillac: Board Members Wanted

The Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau (CAVB) is seeking a community-minded professional employed by a lodging property or tourism-related business in the Greater Cadillac Area to serve on its Board of Directors. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of tourism and overnight travel for the Greater Cadillac Area.

We are looking for leaders working in lodging, outdoor recreation, hospitality, golf, agriculture, small business, or the meetings and group travel sector who are ready to bring insight, perspective, and energy to the table. Ideal candidates understand the value of visitor spending, care deeply about the region’s success, and want to play an active role in strengthening Cadillac’s tourism economy.

Role of the Board

The CAVB Board of Directors provides strategic oversight and governance for the organization, working in partnership with the Executive Director. Board members:

  • Contribute to strategic planning and policy direction
  • Support initiatives that drive overnight visitation
  • Serve as ambassadors for the destination
  • Participate in monthly board meetings and CAVB events when possible

Board meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month, as determined by the board.

Qualifications for Consideration

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of nonprofit governance and organizational development, or a willingness to learn
  • Professional experience in one or more relevant sectors such as outdoor recreation, agriculture, hospitality, small business, or tourism services
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • A commitment to community and economic development
  • A vested interest in increasing overnight travel
  • Prior board or leadership experience is a plus

Board members will serve a three-year term from May 2026 through April 2029.

Priority preference is given to people employed by a lodging partner located within the Cadillac area assessment boundaries.
