Mark your calendars for the 6th Annual Lower Peninsula Pinhead Reunion (LPPR) on January 25, 2025, at the beautiful Caberfae Peaks Resort. Whether you’re a seasoned telemark skier or just curious about the sport, this is the perfect event to celebrate winter, community, and the art of the turn.
“This event started as a way to get telemark skiers from all over the lower peninsula together to share in the love of the turn,” said Nicholas Racette, Co-Founder and self-proclaimed Chief of Stoke. Over the years, the event has snowballed into an exciting weekend packed with skiing, entertainment, and camaraderie.
What Is Telemark Skiing?
Telemark skiing is a unique style of skiing that combines elements of alpine and Nordic skiing, featuring free-heel bindings that allow for graceful, lunging turns. Known for its fluid motion and elegance, it’s as much an art form as it is a sport!
What makes LPPR truly unique is its community focus. Beyond the slopes, the Skyview Lodge transforms into a hub of memories and laughter, where participants gather for a potluck, share stories, and make connections.
“It’s not just on the slopes where all the fun is,” said Racette. “Skyview Lodge hosts many folks enjoying the potluck alongside memories and stories together.”
