Over the past year, Cadillac has welcomed 11 new investments to the area. Between new developments to current businesses and brand new establishments, the streets of downtown are sparkling. These additions have brought a more pleasant walk to visitors, created new faces to abandoned storefronts and helped balance the retail to service store ratio.
Cooperation with local realtors such as Daniella Bell at Coldwell Banker and Joni Holly at Homewaters, as well as the combined support from the Downtown Cadillac Association (DCA), the City of Cadillac, and others, the following are new investments in downtown:

  • Apple Valley Natural Foods
  • Artisan Bounty
  • Barn Social
  • Cinema 4
  • Cobbs & Mitchell Building
  • Kahve Coffee
  • Old Oleson’s building
  • Platinum Rags
  • Raven Brewing & BBQ
  • ReFunked Junk
  • Waddell Reed

(See end of release for descriptions)
The DCA and the City of Cadillac has worked to ensure the visitors get the best experience possible when exploring downtown. These updates and new businesses have brought rejuvenation to the area.
“Combined these are over $3 million new business investment, with an anticipated 150+ new jobs in the downtown area,” says Marcus Peccia, City Manager, City of Cadillac, “New variety of retail and full storefronts are key for commerce in downtown corridors, we are very excited.”
“We try to improve the experience and we like to keep [residents and visitors] shopping local and get them excited about shopping local,” says DCA President Mark Featherston, “There is an extra strength to having small shops. They each have unique personalities.”

“I’m so grateful to see all these new spaces being filled up,” says Sheila Denison, owner of The Ultimate Gift and ReFunked Junk and DCA board member, “We have such gifted people in our area that I feel they need the opportunity to be featured…I hope that’s what’s accomplished with ReFunked Junk.”
Many more projects are underway as well and will soon be joining the community.
Along with these private investments, the Cadillac Commons has become a great public investment to the region by providing a place for the people to enjoy the downtown area and Lake Cadillac. The Cadillac Commons area includes the renovated Rotary Performing Arts Pavilion, Plaza, and Splash Pad & Bonfire, with the two final phases of the Market and White Pine Trailhead to be built in the future.   With the help of the Greater Cadillac community, the Cadillac Commons opened in the fall of 2016 and is available year round for the public to enjoy.
