Ice Fishing Report -

UPDATED 2/2/24

Cadillac Fire Department is advising people to stay off the ice.  Most of Lake Mitchell feels like a frozen slushy. A few guys had to be rescued last weekend and until there is a radical weather change it would be wise to find another outside hobby. Get the latest from Pilgrim Village Fishing Shop.

More Details

We finally got some snow! Looks pretty again, but obviously there was no base under this 5-6″ of fresh snow. Trails are all white and covered, but could hear rocks underneath without a base. Felt like a first ride of the year in early December, when riding last night. Forecast doesn’t look great after this weekend, so if you choose to ride, just remember the conditions. There has been some wheeled vehicle traffic in this warmer weather we’ve had, so be cautious that some ruts could be prevalent on the trails. More updates on Pete's Trail Report!

Winter Sports Trail 🚲

UPDATED 2/19/24:

Groomed the five mile loop on Friday afternoon. Several riders out there over the weekend. Not much base and the snow is dry. It packed well in the center but sides are soft. Don’t be that person flying around corners! Plan to touch up the five mile loop today - it will be done by 1pm.Support our volunteer grooming efforts today!

MacKenzie XC Ski Trail

UPDATED 2/16/24:

We have had 5-6 inches of wet snow over the last 24 hours so we pulled the groomer on the figure 8 and intermediate loop to prep for the holiday weekend. Conditions are great right now! Unsure if the ground is actually frozen and there are warm temps ahead next week so get after it while it lasts. A friendly reminder to join and share our Facebook page with fellow trail enthusiasts as it’s always our most up to date reports! Learn more about the MacKenzie Trail here.
