Tip of the Week: Balance to Creating Consistency
- Lay down a club in front of you to serve as an alignment aid, to make sure your ball position and aim are correct
- Keep your balls close enough to reach and put into a fresh spot of grass
- Make sure that you are stabilized throughout the duration of your swing.

Brian Davis is in his fourth year serving as the General Manager and PGA Professional at the Missaukee Golf Club, and has been teaching golf for 37 years.
Here’s a bit about Missaukee Golf Club in Brian’s own words!
“Growing up I had a cottage and learned how to play golf on this very golf course, and to have the opportunity to come back and run it as general manager has been very rewarding for me. During my career I have played in 8 Michigan Opens and I enjoy being here in Lake City.
We keep our golf course in excellent shape everyday and the rates are very reasonable so it’s a good place to come and play, we get a lot of players from all over the region.
It slopes at 113 and is 600 yards from the tip, so it’s a relatively short course, but there are enough trees on it to keep every player honest. The greens are usually the best part of the playing experience so we invite everyone to come out and play.
We cater to the youth here, offering free golf everyday for 16 year olds and under, as well as host 3 high school teams here. We get a lot of junior players and have our orange tees for them that are about 200 yard par 4s. I also have an instruction program that starts Friday, June 15th that is for both beginning and advanced students with some on course instruction.
Our summer rates are $38 for 18 holes with a cart with twilight rates Friday, Saturday and Sunday after 3 p.m. where it drops down to $29, and Friday is our Senior’s Day and it is $29 for 18 holes with a cart.”
