I stopped by while travelling to train. The professor was very kind greeted me at 6 a.m. for their regular class. I borrowed a Gi and joined the class on the mats. The professor went through a warmup with us and then taught several great techniques from the closed guard. I liked his system of getting one arm across the body and then how to use it for sweeps and then armbar/razor lock. The group i trained with was friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed several rounds of live training with them before catching a shower before departure. If you are visiting or live in the area you can expect top notch instruction and normal people training with the intent to learn jujitsu. I highly recommend Kraken BJJ.

I’ve known Jesh for many years. As a fellow black belt I can say that Jesh’s technical knowledge, ability, and teaching skills are top notch. I was able to drop in on one of his classes this week. He promotes a safe environment and I can also say I really enjoyed his students, who were very friendly and demonstrated great JJ skills. Can’t say enough positive things about this school!

I have 3 sons that have trained BJJ and competed for many years. Prof. Jesh and his students were incredibly welcoming. Myself and the boys were impressed by the high-quality and nuanced Gi instruction, even for the youth level students! We were immediately impressed by the clean, disciplined, and fun atmosphere of the academy. I highly recommend this program for all BJJ students, be they of advanced or beginner skill levels.

With a few months in, I have nothing but good things to say about the gym. It is very clean, with a major focus on safety and hygiene. Jesh and Tom are both extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and everyone training is respectful and careful. We are very fortunate to have such a great place and great people to train with in a small town like Cadillac.

Jesh the owner is incredibly skilled, kind, and proficient at teaching. As a complete beginner, he and everyone that attends classes are very careful at teaching, drilling, and practicing in a way that you learn but don’t put yourself at risk of injury. It’s a refreshingly welcoming community. We are lucky to have this gym in Cadillac.
