Been coming here for over 40 years since I was a child, and it is still the highlight of every trip home to Michigan now that I live in Oregon. Every summer of my childhood was filled with memories of swimming in Lake Missaukie followed by a Tasty Treat cone. The variety of frozen treats is incredible. Portions are enormous. I hope this treasure lives on forever because a trip home wouldn’t be the same without it!

Tasty Treat is always a planned stop when we're in Lake City! If you just want a taste make sure to order a mini because even the kids size is big🍦lol and if you want ice cream with your nerds make sure to say light on the nerds😜

Our first time here was last year and we didnt know what to expect. But we ordered our kids the normal sizes and they where not it at all so so much more ice cream lol. So this year when we went we all knew what to do. The sizes are so big and so fun we love this place. Very busy place for a reason. Nice people, clean, amazing treats and food. We plan to go every year.

TLDR: first-timers and this place is awesome. First, the line is nuts. Plan to wait 30 mins+ on the weekend in the summer. Also - worth it. The portions are crazy and the prices for everything are so fair. Is this even real?!?!? Their namesake tshirts are $15. But the food prices are even better. We got fried cauliflower on a recommendation from the group in front of us in line. It was $6 and a very healthy portion. We also got a chicken and cheese quesadilla. We got the full size for $11 and there were two full quesadillas! Everything was piping hot. We walked back to our cottage to eat and it was still too hot to hold when we got back. The ice cream is also delicious. I got the Rush Hour, Sea turtle and black raspberry chocolate chip. All were awesome but the black raspberry and sea turtle were my favs. 10/10 recommend and see why it’s so beloved.
