I was really excited to try this place because I heard awesome things, but honestly I left disappointed. First, the seating was very uncomfortable, my fiance and I sat at the metal, patio furniture tables as the high tops were taken. Didn't let it bother me at first, I was excited to try the food! We got the onion petals and deep fried portabella mushrooms for starters. The onion petals were amazing, no complaints there. The mushrooms were fried a bit dark, was a little concerned about the grease they just came out of, but overall they weren't bad. For dinner we shared the Truck Stop Box, which comes with a burger, 5 chicken wings, and fries or loaded fries, which we got. I ate the wings, I had ordered garlic parmesan and I received plain, fried wings with no seasonings. They were still good dipped in their ranch dressing, which was also good. My fiance said the burger was ok, a bit plain (he got the jalapeño and swiss). The loaded fries which are topped with cheese, brisket (I think) and green onions, were good taste wise, but they were basically cold as soon as we got them. I ate a few bites and I was done with that. My fiance had 2 tequila sunrise drinks that were made well and tasted good. The waitress was nice, yet quite persistent. I think she came by to ask us how we were doing every 3 minutes. Better than never seeing your server I suppose, but still a bit overwhelming. So overall, it was ok, but I probably won't be going back.
Feb 15, 2026 · Google ReviewOk, these are always tough ones because I want to give a good honest review that hopefully helps though there's some critical points to make. I'll get straight to the point. The bartender/server was quick to greet us, was prompt with our drinks and taking our order and we loved the industrial Rock n Roll theme as they also have a concert venue, literally called "THE VENUE". We've never been here before but we've heard good things and wanted to give them a try. Ok here's where it gets tough, The food. We ordered an appetizer of jalapeno poppers and flavor wise they were what's to be expected but It was a very small portion for the price, $8, or I SHOULD say the poppers them selves were small compared to what we've had in other places, there's 5 per order where 8 is a normal quantity. I ordered the, Zesty jalapeno burger and my wife ordered the Sticky-icky both burgers were served with a healthy portion of wavy chips and a crispy pickle spear, $14 ea, a normal price for today's economy. And because they literally cook these burgers on a charcoal/wood barrel smoker that's set up in the middle of the kitchen they had a real backyard BBQ flavor and were well seasoned and even with what I'm about to mention next were really flavorful. They came as described on the menu but we like our burgers medium rare and they were served beyond well done and extremely dry and her bacon was... Burnt, no other way to describe it. The server did note clearly on the ticket, med rare. The wife ordered onion rings that were missed and came out late and well done and though both burgers had a sauce on them it didn't help the dryness much. But I WILL SAY THIS. I noticed a young cook working alone and though they didn't "look" busy there was a 5 top with at least 3 burgers, a 2 top with 1 burger that I saw and as we ordered another 2 top ordered 2 burgers as well so I guess that says something about those burgers now doesn't it? I feel they were short staffed in the kitchen and the cook was simply overwhelmed, I've been in those shoes for over 40 yrs and still am so I understand. I would suggest slowing down a little, communicate to the guest that while we don't look busy they're getting hit all at once, thank you for your patience so you food is correct. If they don't understand SEND THEM TO MCDONALD'S 🤣. We will be back because it was a good overall experience. ONE LAST THING! Kudos to that bartender for doing the best she could at getting the fire stoked up in the fire place with the logs that barely fit! Get them 2 boys we seen walk in an axe and chopping block!
Dec 10, 2025 · Google ReviewGood place to eat, more of a bar atmosphere than a restaurant. I’ve eaten them multiple times and the food is really good. Great beer selection and you’re able to talk amongst yourselves.
Jul 27, 2026 · Google ReviewMy family was passing through Cadillac around lunchtime. We thought we would give this place a chance. We loved the food. The burgers were handmade, not frozen with fresh ingredients. The fries were fresh not frozen. The food exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back. The wait staff seemed a little inattentive to us, but overall was a great experience.
Aug 1, 2026 · Google ReviewTried The Truck Stop for the first time and walked away with a great experience . Probably the best brisket I have ever tasted. It was so tender and had great flavor. Also had the onion rings which were very crispy and tasty. The server was very friendly and made sure we had a great experience. So glad we found this gem of a restaurant. Can’t wait to come back again and try their burgers.
