NO. This is not a designated DNR Route/Trail and it is not a US Forest Service Route/Trail. Simply put, the scenic ride shown here is a recommended ride to great points of interest in the Cadillac Area on Wexford County and US Forest roads that are OPEN to ORV/OHVs.

YES, many now are open to ORV/OHV use! Effective October 1, 2021, the Huron-Manistee National Forests (HMNFs) changed the Motor Vehicle Use (MVU) designation of Forest Service roads to include Off-Highway Vehicles (OHVs) to allow for consistent use across the forests and other public lands statewide. This designation allows for OHV use on many HMNFs roads. Please pick up a copy of the US Forest Service Motor Vehicle Use Map for individual road closures/notices.

The Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau worked with state and local officials to compile instructions for ORV/OHV use. Complete details for: “Instructions for Operating on Open & Maintained Road Surfaces” as well as “Requirements & Restrictions” are available on our printed maps as well as through the Wexford County ORV ordinance and Wexford County Road Commission. Also note that all non-plated vehicles need a State of Michigan ORV License to legally ride on open County and US Forest Service Roads.
