Daniel Trautner,

Cadillac Area Public Schools

This award, NEW last year, recognizes an area youth who has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND in their effort to support the mission of the Cadillac Area Festivals & Events through continuous involvement and leadership with area Festivals & Events.  In this second year, may we remind everyone that this award was created based on community feedback – this is nominated community resident.  We hope to continue to award this annually to foster excitement and honor in our youth to become active in the many non-school related activities, activities that are developed, supported and attended by the community as a whole and open to the public and our visitors. This award winner joins the ranks of Spencer Richardson (2018).

Daniel has been with the Cadillac Area Community Foundation Youth Advisory Committee since 2015 where he’s held leadership positions and volunteered at numerous community outreach events like book drives, food pantry and homelessness groups.  With the Cadillac Area Ecology Club building bat boxes, spring trash clean-up, wildfire messaging, DNR Deer Check Stations, twilight hikes and the Velvet Hanger prom dress project.  He’s also volunteered at the Halloween Downtown event, Snow Festival and Back to the Bricks Car show over the years.
