The Big Manistee starts as a narrow stream north of Grayling and spreads to more than 125 feet wide by the time it snakes its way westward, near Mesick. Relax and enjoy a rapid-free river, uninterrupted by portages, with few signs of civilization. Gentle currents will carry you effortlessly through scenic woodland teeming with wildlife. We are also open weekends in May, September and October with weekdays by reservation or please phone ahead to insure we are there to service your trip. We have a variety of trips to choose from, whether it’s your first time canoeing or 100th time. We provide shuttle services for all of our rentals, so your vehicle may remain parked in our lot until your return. We love animals and pets are always welcome in our canoes or kayaks. Please follow all leash laws and clean up after them. Pets are not allowed in tubes or rafts.
