Cadillac Chamber Leadership Program & Deb Gillies

The Cadillac Chamber Leadership Program award recognizes area businesses and organizations who demonstrate Excellence in Providing Recreational Opportunities to our visitors.  Joining the ranks of Caberfae Peaks Ski & Golf Resort (2012), Friends of the Cadillac Pathway (2013), Cadillac Winter Promotions (2014), Cadillac Garden Club (2015), Rotary Club of Cadillac (2016), Friends of the White Pine Trail (2017) and Merritt Speedway (2018).

The Chamber Leadership program has supported area recreation since 1993 with the installation of the Cadillac Welcome Signs to a Pavilion Structure at the Cadillac Pathway this past year.   Projects just appear right?  Never.  There is always a driving force behind it, and Deb Gillies has been the driving force behind over 10 recreation-based projects – which is no small task.   The Leadership Class has helped the Wex replace a Floor, build a Bridge at CASA fields, Construct a new Cabin at Camp Torenta, build a Pavilion at Kenwood Park, created a Patio at the After 26 Depot, built an ADA compliant play structure on the Keith McKellop Walkway, built the Cadillac Commons Splash pad and installed the Kayak and Canoe ADA docking system on Lake Cadillac at Mitchell State Park – just to name a few.  We figure well over $250,000 in recreation projects.
